How we work

Support Group Sessions

We offer fortnightly sessions for children to come have fun and socialise with others in similar circumstances. Activities include everything from arts and crafts, messy play, cooking and baking to board games, communication and team building exercises, physical activities as well as outdoor play.

Fully qualified team

All our trustees and volunteers hold the necessary qualifications and have completed training that’s relevant in supporting these children; many also have additional knowledge from previous and present job roles.

Special events

From kayaking and fundraising events to family Fundays, Super Siblings is always looking for new ways to offer support, create memories and strengthen this community of incredible children and their families.

Helping siblings of children with additional needs feel safe, have fun and simply be kids

We rely on donations; your support helps us continue doing this vital work.

Help to make a real change to the lives of children and their families.

Our Sessions

Sessions take place fortnightly in Crawley on Mondays. We split the children into 3 groups. The 6-8yrs and 9-11yrs groups run at the same time, with the 12-16yrs on the alternate weeks.

The children’s wants and needs drive our sessions. We ask the children what they would like to gain from attending our sessions and what they can’t usually do or feel they miss out on due to having a disabled sibling and then we try our best to make that happen.

This can be as simple as playing a game, having a chat or playing loud music. Regular activities include arts and crafts, baking, cooking, teaching life skills and science experiments. We also organise trips out to the cinema, restaurants, bowling alleys and other places that siblings may not be able to cope with.

Our sessions are all about having fun and creating memorable experiences for the children.

What the parents say

  • “Its a truly fabulous organisation assisting siblings of children with additional needs. Its a one of kind charity that is changing lives of local children, giving them some all-important recognition for all they do for their siblings, along side other children in a similar situation to them that they may not have ever met if it wasn’t for this fantastic, supportive group.”
